| The
building is of 5 storeys which are entirely given over to
the Residency. A cafeteria is situated in the business premises.
Communication between the floors is by stairs or by a lift.
On the first floor there is a TV Room, a Study Room, a Computer
Room, the dining room and two toilets as well as a public
telephone.
The Residence is divided into 8 apartments, and in each apartment
there are 2 or 3 bedrooms and a complete bathroom for the
use of these rooms. The bathroom is cleaned daily by our staff.
Our Residence has 23 bedrooms; 17 are single and 6 are double
rooms, with a shared bathroom. The bedrooms face the exterior
and let in a lot of light. 80% of them have at least one balcony/window,
and some of them have two or three balconies, and the rest
are attic rooms with skylights in the ceiling.
All the rooms are exterior facing, giving onto at least one
of these three streets: Alameda Principal, Calle Ordóñez
(Ordóñez Street) and Calle Panaderos (Panaderos
Street). Those rooms with a skylight give onto one of the
Residence’s terraces.
CAPACITY: Only for 28 students, which guarantees
a family atmosphere.
The bedrooms are provided with:
- a bed, a bedside table, a wardrobe (some of which are built-in),
a desk, a chair, a wastepaper basket, a bookshelf, a balcony/window.
- Internet connection by means of the mains electrical supply
(RJ-45 adaptor) or by wireless connection.
-TV aerial socket (in some rooms).
Residents are provided with a set of keys to the main door
and to their room so that they are not dependent on fixed
times for coming in or going out. Visiting in the communal
areas (not to the bedrooms, which is not permitted) is forbidden
as of 22:00 at night to allow other people to rest or to study.
The Residence is equipped with cameras in the communal areas
to ensure security for everybody.
CONTROL: Apart from our staff, a person
lives in the Residence at night so that the students have
someone in attendance 24 hours a day every day of the year.
FREEDOM AND CONTROL: All residents are provided
with a set of keys to enable them to enter and leave the Residence
with complete freedom, although:
-they must give notice of the intention to spend the night
out.
-nobody from outside the Residence is permitted entrance to
the bedrooms (only to the communal areas within the established
hours).
TV ROOM: Television room, with video, DVD,
Via Digital (satellite TV)
INTERNET: IN THE BEDROOMS: All rooms are
equipped with wireless Internet, and by means of PLC adaptor
with 4 megabyte ADSL (broadband) connection.
COMPUTER ROOM: There are two computers with
4 megabyte ADSL (broadband) connection which are freely available
for the students’ use.
STUDY ROOM: So that residents can take a
break from individual study in their rooms, and to carry out
group work.
CENTRAL PATIO: An Andalusian-style patio
in the interior of the Residence, presided over by a seven-metre
high mosaic – a work of great artistic value by the
artist JULIO HERNANDEZ.
CAFETERIA: Situated in the business premises
of the Residence, and open to the public.
AIR CONDITIONING: The communal areas are
equipped with air conditioning and heating.
Residents may use a low-wattage heater in their rooms if they
so wish.
CHRISTMAS AND EASTER: The Residence is closed
at Christmas and at Easter, coinciding with the official holiday
dates of the University of Malaga to provide a break for the
staff who work in the Residence. |
